Lesson 27: comparing 보다

To compare things in korean you need to

Rule : 

      Add 보다 to the thing in the sentence that is being compared to

Ex:

 나는 아버지보다 더 잘 생겼어요

Jeo neun abeojipoda jal seangyeosseoyou

I am more handsome than my father.

Ex:

  저는 남동생 보다 키가 더 커요

 Jeo neun namdongsaeng poda kkiga deo kkeoyou

 I'm taller than my little brother

Ex:

 저는 어제 보다 밥을 더 먹었어요

 Jeo neun eonjae poda pabeul deo meogeosseoyou

 I ate more than yesterday

Ps: in most cases 더 is used in conjunction with 보다.

*More examples:

나는 내일 어제 보다 사람 2명 더 만날거야

Na neun naeil eojae poda saram do myeon deo mannalkeoya

I will meet two more people tomorrow than yesterday.

☆ A common word that is used with 보다 is 평소:usual.

Ex:

나는 평소 보다 더 열심히 공부하고 있어요.

Na neun ppyeongso poda deo yeolshimhi kongbohagou isseoyou.

I'm studying harder than usual.

나는 평소 보다 더 행복해요.

Na neun ppyeongso poda deo haengpokhaeyou.

I'm happy more than usual.
